I'm searching

by 13Stoploss

Yeah, I'm a little late, I get that. But it's the kind of literary writing I'm looking for--the smart and beautiful prose, Herr and Swofford style, that really motivates me. In this, I see construction and purpose and skill. And I'm going to steal it, along with the others and O'Brien.

Anyway, buy more of that here, which is what I'm doing right now...

You are right about the piece. It is alive but also well prepared.

Great writers grace the pages of the Sandbox. Still. I learned much of what I have known about the wars by reading those entries. Sometimes it is pictorials about local things like jingle trucks.

Sometimes it is quite simply voices that must be heard.

Kathy B is right -- those of us who don't go to war learn about it from those who do. Knowing that we won't really grok it we want to do what we can.
