Interview

by 13 Stoploss

So, I'm interviewing this guy for a character sketch in class, and hopefully to submit for the school paper. Anything you want to know?

What I would like to know is: why is he so angry?

ask him if he'll feel confident in throwing the first stone.

Ask him where on that laundry list of "sinners" he puts himself. I'm thinking "The Prideful" for sure....

Does he ever doubt? (Even Mother Theresa did.) How did his devotion/viewpoint come about? What is his background? Does he think what he's doing will really change anyone's mind? How much time does he spend out there with his signs and how long has been at it?
Good luck!

Know your subject.

I'd want to know what a Lexus Nexus search shows on this guy. Such hate/intolerance usually has a back story.

Is there anything he finds joyful about his relationship with God, or does he think God repentence shouldn't be about joy? Does he has a wife and kids, and what his relationship with them is like? If they're grown, do they call him sometimes, or are they estranged? Do they consider themselves saved, and if so, does he consider them saved? Does he have a day job? Has he ever had a positive reponse i.e. has anyone actually repented with him? If not, what does he think he's doing wrong? Clearly megachurches have been gaining membership in the last decade or so... what does he think is different and therefore more effective about their approach? Does he see that as effective? Have those people actually been saved? Is there a specific church he believes you need to be saved in? Is he hoping to actually bring people to God, or is he content to just let them know God is unhappy with them?

Is it all a ruse to make people work for (ie listen to and be patient with those they find abhorrent) their right to free speech, perhaps in a rather elaborate scheme to make people think about what their democracy means, rather than take it for granted?

Also, I get that mouthy women can probably repent by being quieter, but how do girly-men repent?

You find this guy interesting why???

His story seems obvious.

If there is anything I learned from the Army, it's that nothing is as it seems. You can characterize all you want. We all do. But, until we have more details, nothing is known. So, yes. I do find this guy interesting enough to find out more.

When did you get out of the Army, dude? (LOL)

No man, when did your interviewee get out? Get it?

Ok. I'll post up the manuscript when I'm done with it. I don't know how well that question would have gone over. In fact, he probably would have just said something like "I'm an Army for God."

Ask him if he believes in free will. z
