Full Circle

by The Usual Suspect

Like a timewarp, a tangent universe, a sick twisted Twilight Zone gag, I was standing in one of many buildings on a college campus, enduring the first day of "orientation".

I looked around at my future classmates and thought, Jesus CHRIST they look young!

Oh, honey, just wait until they open their mouths. Then you'll think, Jesus CHRIST was I ever that young? Can't wait to hear about how it goes. Good luck!

Heheh. Don't worry, deep down inside, you're still young...really deep. Just you wait, Sonny! This is going to be fun! z

P.S. I am still amazed you're there. This is too cool. Never doubt that you can do what you set out to do, Suspect. The sky's the fucking limit. You go, boy!

Hi Ryan,
I guess you will soon discover how "old" you are by comparison in more ways than one. Why are you already going to orientation? Are you going to be taking summer classes? Hope all is well with you Ryan. I'm missing your funny stories and your crazy sense of humor. Maybe those young-uns will inspire you. What classes will you be taking? Looking forward to the high-jinx..."Suspect Goes To College."

Ha! Awesome... It's ok, it's a blessing not to have to be that young anymore.

Yeah, wait'll you see how they ACT... Clueless and don't know it.

Hey, are you using the Post-9/11 GI Bill? I didn't think they paid out until August...

Yup, young and dumb. You have a world of experience on them. Patience will be required,
a lot of it.

HA! Made me laugh out loud. Laughed so long I choked!!

Yup, they're young, and clueless. Forgive them their ignorance, lack of focus and preoccupation with fraternities/sororities/reality TV and boozy parties. They know not who they are.

Like Alex, you'll figure out how you want to handle them. Enjoy what interests you and make the most of these years. What you do in college will be with you forever, sort of like the Army but much more fun. Have a blast and keep in touch when you can.
